COUNCILMEMBER CARROLL DISCUSSES WILDFIRE PREVENTION ON KCAL-9 NEWS

Councilmember Mike Carroll spoke to KCAL News regarding the wildfire prevention seedling projects in the Bommer Canyon Open Space. The City has partnered with the Irvine Ranch Conservancy to replace invasive plants in the area with native plants that are less likely to spread a fire. Carroll said that this new natural habitat, "will protect the residents, the neighbors, our homeowners here." New banks are being built with a goal to plant over 9,000 native plants to help absorb water and reduce flame reach. To hear more of Carroll's interview with KCAL News, click here.
